The Dream Team launches the HUTs Hub
The Dream Team is excited to announce the launch of the HUTs Hub, a new digital resource available to help Front Line Staff to address Housing Unit Takeovers.
A HUT, or Housing Unit Takeover, is a situation in which vulnerable tenants are forced to accommodate unwanted guests in their homes often to fulfill unmet social, economic, and personal needs. In the process, the tenant is threatened physically, financially, and/or psychologically.
The HUTs Hub contains information about HUTs, short videos, links to resources, and downloadable content. The aim is to help front line staff be aware of HUTs and better assist their clients in preventing, intervening, and recovering from them.
The HUTs Hub also hopes to encourage more agencies across the province to request workshops with The Dream Team involving our members who have lived experience in these situations.
