Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The Dream Team

The Dream Team is a group of psychiatric consumer/survivors, people with lived experience of addiction and homelessness, and individuals supporting families. We advocate for the development of more supportive housing for people with mental health and addiction issues and educate against stigma and discrimination.

By telling our personal stories, by conducting and presenting research, and by standing up for human rights, we demonstrate the life altering benefits of supportive housing.

“The presenters’ personal experiences and stories were my favourite part because it was a good opportunity to see how those barriers affect and shape someone’s life.”

What is Supportive Housing?

Supportive Housing combines rental or housing assistance with individualized, flexible and voluntary support services for people with high needs related to physical or mental health, developmental disabilities or substance use. - homelesshub.ca

It allows people to live independent and healthy lives and contributes to improved self-esteem, increased productivity, readiness for work and employment, and reduced need for social assistance.

Supportive housing is cheaper and more effective than hospital beds, incarceration, and emergency shelters.
